Design Rules
& Breakdown

Clear guidelines to ensure your designs meet production standards. Follow these steps to create flawless, print-ready artwork every time.

Supplying Artwork

Provide high-resolution artwork files in the required format (PDF, AI, or EPS) with all layers intact. This ensures accurate reproduction and seamless processing.

Supplying Images

Images must be at least 300 DPI at 100% of the final size. Ensure all linked images are embedded in your file to avoid missing assets during production.

Type Size and Font Requirements

Use fonts no smaller than 6pt for legibility. Outline all text to avoid font compatibility issues, or include font files with your submission.

Converting Copy to Outlines

Convert all text to outlines before submission to ensure the font appearance remains consistent, even if the original font isn’t installed on our system.

Die Lines and Copy Placement

Place all artwork, text, and logos within the die line template provided. Keep key elements within the safe zone to avoid being cut off during trimming.

Setting Barcodes

Barcodes should be clear, high-contrast, and placed in a location free of folds or seams. Test the barcode for scannability before submission.

Trap

Add a trapping allowance to avoid gaps between colors during printing. This ensures colors overlap slightly for clean edges.

Distortion

Artwork for shrink sleeves must account for distortion due to application on curved surfaces. Use the provided templates to adjust for this.

Running Combos and/or Common Plates

Combining designs or using common plates can optimize costs and reduce waste. Discuss with our team if this is suitable for your project.

PDF, Epson Print Proofs, and On-Press First Articles

We provide digital proofs for approval, Epson print proofs for color accuracy, and on-press samples to confirm the final output before full production.

Changes to Artwork

All changes after file submission may incur additional fees or delays. Ensure all files are final before submission to minimize disruptions.
